Karadant a famous sweet variety from North Karnataka, has an interesting story behind its origin. Ancient people who used to workout at a local gymnasium (garadimaani) needed to have high energy and protein-rich foods, for this they consumed all kinds of nuts. Then a thought came to them as to why not make a sweet item incorporating all the nuts like cashews, almonds, figs, dates, etc. That’s how Karadant was born.
